Preparing to Ignite Wilmington

I have heard truly remarkable speakers in a variety of contexts, but nothing compares to what I see happening with Ignite Wilmington.

The good people at the Archer Group brought this dynamic format to Wilmington about seven years ago - and each time this event has been held, we've seen audiences entertained and inspired.

Ignite Wilmington 7 is coming on April 29 at World Cafe Live at the Queen - I highly recommend you click here to reserve your spot for this show.

For those who aren't familiar with the format - it's simple - each presenter has 5 minutes and 20 powerpoint slides - the slides automatically advance every 15 seconds. Here's a look at some of the past presentations:

A Report Worth Reading

As you probably know, this week the Police Foundation and Vigilant Resources International issued a detailed, comprehensive report on public safety in Wilmington.

You can read the full report by clicking here.

While there’s been articles written and discussions on talk shows about various aspects of the report, I would encourage everyone to take a little time and review the document for themselves. I think what you will find is respect for the hard work our Wilmington Police Department is doing as well as some good recommendations for ways to make our community safer.

This is part of an ongoing discussion, it’s important that all of us are informed with facts and understand best practices from around the country.

I am confident that we, as a community can work with the men and women in law enforcement to make Wilmington an even better place to live, work, play, and raise our families.
